Bilingual Human Resources Partner

What's the role?

The Bilingual Human Resources Partner advises line management to provide general human resources related consultation, support, service, and guidance to Hilti employee and management groups. Key areas of responsibility include line management support/coaching, employee development, strategic recruiting, legal compliance, Hilti's people approach, including succession planning, and organizational development in support of Hilti’s business objectives, strategic initiatives, and organizational priorities.

What does the role involve?

• Manage and/or provide consultation on employment related and legal compliance matters throughout Canada
• Assist in development and implementation of human resource policies
• Acts as liaison between employee and management to answer questions or concerns regarding company policies, practices, regulations and local compliance.
• Conduct investigations
• Ensure necessary employment records are maintained in accordance with legal requirements
• Support and promote engagement activities including Geo’s, Fast Leaps, Pride month etc..
• Collect and analyze human resources data and make recommendations for change.
• Serve as a catalyst for change management to ensure consistency in communication and alignment of company objectives
• Manage the Hilti North America Strategic Organizational Development Portfolio to include Assessment Centers, Talent Days, Emerging Leadership Development, and Internships/Co-ops in order to identify and develop high potential employees
• Partner with Legal Department in employment law related matters
• Promote and ensure equitable, consistent and lawful treatment of all employees in all employment actions
• Support compliance programs (e.g., JHSC/AODA, Workers Compensation, FMLA etc.) to ensure legal and corporate policy compliance in all employment practices including Global compliance program
• Evaluate business activities to assess compliance risk
• Ensure sound internal controls and monitor adherence to them
• Assist in recruiting and promotion efforts for Canada
• Active participation in diversity initiatives as a guiding HR principle
• Promote Hilti through professional networking opportunities
• Collaborate with external auditors, when needed
• Educate and train employees on regulations and industry practices
• Maintain regulatory knowledge
• Additional duties, as assigned

What you need is:

• Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Business, Human Resources or a related field or equivalent combination of education and applicable experience
• Master’s Degree, preferred
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Human Resources at a generalist level (and or equivalent experience and education) to include the following: employee relations, recruitment, organizational development, succession planning, coaching, compensation, and/or equivalent
• Extensive knowledge of current employment-related laws and best practices in human resource processes, required
• Skillful in written and oral communication, including persuasive negotiation skills, required
• Strong conceptual thinking skills and the ability to utilize creative and innovative approaches in problem solving, required
• Strong organizational abilities; high level of motivation and customer focused, continuous improvement mentality required in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
• Demonstrated ability to work well with others
• Fully Bilingual -French/English, required
• Knowledge of Workday, preferred
• Professional Human Resources certification (CHRP/CHRL), preferred

Normal office conditions.
Up to 30% domestic and international travel, required
